Transform Your Tree into a Home for Native wildlife
If there has been a large tree clearing or there is an opportunity to keep part of the tree (rather than remove it totally), we encourage clients to consider habitat hollows. Habitat hollows create more places for hollow-dependent wildlife to live and thrive in our beautiful country.
Offset the environmental impact of chopping down your trees by providing a new home for native species.
Why Create Habitat Hollows?

How we create hollow holes
On average, it takes 70 to 120 years for hollows to form in trees in Australian forests. That’s why we partner with Hollowhog to create habitat hollows using a unique wood carving tool that has been specifically designed to create habitats for wildlife.
The Hollowhog safely and quickly creates large internal cavities through small entry holes in both living and dead wood. No other damage to the tree’s cambium (living tissue) happens during the carving process, which means there is little disruption to a tree’s growth.
form the tree hollow
The entry hole size and shape can be made specifically to any fauna species through either carving a larger entry hole or adding entry modifiers to reduce the size back down to as small as needed.
Customise the entry size
tree Hollow becomes a home for native animals
The Hollowhog can form these hollows in less than an hour, providing valuable homes, offsetting the loss of naturally developing hollows.
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of country, particularly the Kabi Kabi people and Jinibara people and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
